Day by day
  1. Day 1

    M'hamid → KrayAt Jmal

    The walk begins after breakfast. Past oases, tamarisk trees and nomad tents, the team leads you towards the dunes. After around two and a half hours there is a lunch break in the shade, then another two and a half hours to the first camp.

  2. Day 2

    KrayAt Jmal → Bougarne

    Around four hours through the striking stone desert. After the lunch break under a tamarisk, another two hours to the dunes of Bougarne.

  3. Day 3

    Bougarne → Erg Chegaga

    Four hours towards the big dunes. Lunch at an oasis with a spring — goods from other countries were once traded here. After another two hours you reach Erg Chegaga.

  4. Day 4

    Camp → M'hamid

    In the morning it is goodbye to the Sahara. Back to M'hamid by jeep. The stay at camp can be extended on request.

  • If you need a daily shower — there is one only at camp on the third evening
Frequently asked questions
What should I bring?
Sturdy shoes, ideally ankle-high so sand stays out. Sun cream, tissues, wet wipes, a towel and a sleeping bag if you prefer one.
How far do we walk each day?
About five to six hours of walking, split into two stages with a long lunch break during the hottest part of the day.
Do I have to ride a dromedary?
No. The animals carry the luggage. Riding is possible at any time but entirely optional.
