The counterpart
Taghazout & the coast
From the desert to the sea. A fishing village with a surf beach, far from touristy Agadir.
Anyone who reaches the sea after three days of sand understands why we plan this combination so often. Taghazout is barely an hour north of Agadir and has stayed a fishing village that happens to have picked up surfers.
The waves are well known, the water is cool, and the terraces above the bay are a good place to let a journey settle. Take a surf lesson if you want; if not, sit in front of it with a mint tea.
We mostly add the coast to longer routes — on the grand trek it is the final two days.
