Day by day
  1. Day 1

Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Agdz

Your driver picks you up at your hotel. Over the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2,260 metres with a view across the ranges, then down to Aït Ben Haddou — the mud-brick kasbah that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch on through the Draa valley and its thousands of date palms to Agdz.

NightTraditional riad with a pool · dinner included
  2. Day 2

    Agdz → M'hamid → Erg Chegaga

Past Zagora and Tamegroute, known for its green-glazed pottery — with a workshop visit if you like. On to the oasis town of M'hamid El Ghizlane, the gate to the desert, where the road ends. After lunch you go off-road into the dunes. Campfire in the evening, a camel ride into the sunset, or sandboarding.

NightComfortable desert camp · shower and toilet · dinner included
  3. Day 3

Erg Chegaga → Lac Iriki → Marrakech

After breakfast, back past Lac Iriki — a vast salt lake, dry for years now — and a fossil hill where you can pick up small fossils to keep. Stops for drinks and lunch along the way. You are back in Marrakech in the evening.
