  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Marrakech

    From the airport straight to the riad.

  2. Day 2

    Marrakech

    Koutoubia mosque, Jemaa el-Fnaa, Jardin Majorelle and the Bahia palace — all within walking distance. For Jardin Majorelle we recommend booking tickets in advance.

  3. Day 3

    Marrakech → M'hamid

    Over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2,260 metres, a visit to Aït Ben Haddou, midday in Ouarzazate with its film studios, then through the Draa valley via Zagora to M'hamid.

  4. Day 4

    M'hamid → Sidi Naji

    You meet your crew and the dromedaries. The route passes the dunes of Zahar, with a lunch break under tamarisks. The first camp is at Sidi Naji, near a place sacred to the nomads.

  5. Day 5

    Sidi Naji → Erg Zahar

    Through an area of many dunes to Erg Zahar. You watch the sunset from one of the highest dunes in Morocco.

  6. Day 6

    Erg Zahar → Erg Smar

    An easy walk through golden dunes, crossing the dry riverbed of the Wadi Drâa. In the evening you bake bread together in the sand.

  7. Day 7

    Erg Smar → Erg Chegaga

    The goal is the dunes of Erg Chegaga — a field stretching forty kilometres and rising to three hundred metres. After the lunch break your driver collects you and takes you to the desert camp.

  8. Day 8

    Erg Chegaga → Taghazout

    Through the Iriki national park back onto the road, past Taznakht (Berber carpets) and Taliouine (saffron). You reach the coastal town of Taghazout in the evening.

  9. Day 9

    Taghazout

    Rest and enjoy the sea. Far from touristy Agadir, popular with surfers.

  10. Day 10

    Agadir → departure

    Beslama, Morocco. Transfer to Agadir airport.

Why does the price drop so much with group size?
Vehicle, driver, guide, cook and support team cost the same regardless of how many people travel. With six instead of two, that fixed share is spread further.
Are there fixed departure dates?
No. We plan the trip around your dates. The best time to travel is October to April.
